Christmas: check. New Years: check. Time passing too quickly: check!!

WOWZA! I cannot believe the year is already over and a new one is almost a week in. We keep asking for time to slow down but nobody seems to be listening!
Jaelyn's Christmas was absolutely amazing. We decided to have Christmas with Tom's parents on Christmas Eve. So I ended up making a ham (that Tom got on sale because it was the day before Christmas) we didn't think we were having a big dinner party but it ended up to be one! I got compliments all night on how juicy and tender and yummy the ham was. Jaelyn's Grandma Carol even admitted it was better than the one she makes...I was pretty proud :)
She opened up what we thought were entirely too many presents. She really was "swimming" in them if you will!
She loved it, knew exactly what to do. Tearing into the paper like she's done it for years. I loved watching her eyes glow the entire time. There was lots of laughter, noise, people, and kids to look at so she was entertained to say the least.
My sister Shanna and her kids and their dad came too.

Christmas morning we actually slept in a lot later than usual...since we had already opened all of our gifts the night before and Tom and I had already exchanged gifts earlier too!
Jaelyn had some left to open from Santa. She was just in awe of the excitement of Christmas and gifts and her mama singing Chrismtas carols with Daddy trying to harmonize. Needless to say we were entertaining her. It was so much fun with our little family. I am so thankful for them and can't wait to see what 2009 brings our way.
Christmas evening we went to Tom's cousin Barry's house for dinner with his whole family. It was a great time with great people. They even had more presents for us :)

Christmas Day

New Years Eve was a wonderful time too. For the past few years we have held our annual "Steward's New Year's Eve Bash"...so just because Jaelyn joined the family didn't stop our festivities! Jaelyn actually stayed up until 11pm almost made it for the ball to drop!
We had about 20 of our friends and family over. We played pool, cards, kids played games and adults did too. We had lots of champagne and so much good food. We are thankful that our friends came to celebrate bringing in the New Year again...it is really so much fun every year and Jaelyn got to help celebrate this year. That makes it so special for us...all of these memories are in the making for us...and we just can't get enough of her!
