Little Miss Jaelyn
>> January 7, 2010
We have waited a couple of months to get Jaelyn into the Physical Medicine at Childrens Hospital for awhile now. It finally came yesterday. They decided they want to do an MRI of her brain to make sure there are no clots, tumors, cysts, etc. This will take place at the end of the month. They referred her to see an occupational therapist just to make sure there is no delay (HELLO WE KNEW THERE IS NO DELAY SHE IS SMART AS A WHIP!) and she proved that to them today. A therapist "played" with her for an hour and said "Umm your daughter is above average in every single category and each exercise we've done today so she doesn't need any type of therapy in this area" THANK YOU VERY MUCH FOR THE ANSWER WE ALREADY KNEW :)
Now we will have to take her to physical therapy beginning next Friday to try and loosen up her right foot. The reason they sent us to both was to make sure it wasn't something in her brain causing her to not use her right side as much as her left because apparently kids before the age of 3 should not show signs of being left or right handed but should ultimately be ambidextrous. She definitely uses her left side more than her right. Usually kids that have had lack of oxygen at birth have similar problems but they want to research her because she's had none of that happen. She is perfect if you ask us! So here's to loosening up that right foot!!!!!!
Jaelyn played in the snow for the first time this week, it was so bitter cold that we only stayed out for 10 minutes but she got her taste of the snow...literally! It's coming down now and the roads are disgusting. These are the times I'm especally thankful for being a stay at home mommy!!
P.S. Jaelyn's new favorite word is DON'T. She says it all of the time instead of NO doggies she's saying Don't. I guess it sounds a little better than her demanding "NO" ;)
